ATLANTA, GA – September 19, 2008 – The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) released the following information on the I-75/I-85 Downtown Connector resurfacing project for this weekend.
I-85 North and Southbound (S. Fulton):
- 7 p.m. Friday – 5 a.m. Saturday: 1 lane closed south of
SR 74 / Senoia Rd. (Exit 61)
- 10 p.m. Friday – 5 a.m. Saturday: 2 lanes closed between Loop Rd.
(Exit 74) and Riverdale Rd. (Exit 71)
- 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. nightly through Saturday morning: 1 or 2 northbound
lanes closed near Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.
The scheduled work should not affect fans making their way to the Georgia Dome for Sunday’s Game. The GDOT would also like to remind motorists that any of these projects could change time frames or be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or equipment failure. For real-time construction reports dial 511 from any phone, 24 hours a day.
The staff at the Georgia Dome and Atlanta Falcons encourage every fan to consider transportation routes and options when traveling to the Dome. Remember that choosing MARTA and carpooling are excellent options and arriving early is the best way to ensure that you don’t miss any of the action. Falcons’ Landing – an interactive fan experience with games, prizes, live music, concessions, special guest appearances and live broadcasts – opens three hours prior to every Falcons’ home game. Entertainment and warm-ups begin inside the Dome at 11 a.m. and the Falcons and Chiefs kickoff at 1 p.m. Sunday.
