News / FRAZIER BOLTON APPOINTED TO CHIEF OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR THE GWCC
Atlanta
- Frazier Bolton has been named chief of public safety of the Georgia World Congress Center, effective May 23, 2005. Dan Graveline, Georgia World Congress Center Executive Director, announced the appointment.

Bolton has over 33 years of experience in the field of law enforcement. Starting as a beat patrol officer, Bolton worked his way up through police ranks. He was a fugitive, homicide & larceny detective and served as a sergeant on the patrol division and burglary squad, which was a pilot project for his precinct. As a Sergeant he also worked with the special investigations and the communications sections of the force. Bolton has served the Atlanta community in previous years as a resource officer for Fulton County schools. He retired as a police lieutenant from the Atlanta Police force in 1991.

Since his retirement, Bolton has remained in law enforcement. He most recently served as the director for the department of public safety at Jackson State and Fort Valley State Universities. Bolton has also received special training from Louisiana State University on Emergency Responses to Terrorism. He is the co-author of "Standard for Narcotic Operations", which was used in the accreditation of the Atlanta City Police officers.

"Frazier's extensive training and on-the-job experience make him a valuable asset to our campus and team," said Graveline. "With more than 5 million visitors expected this year alone, his leadership will help ensure the enjoyment and safety of each person, so they can have the most memorable experience here possible."

The Georgia World Congress Center is among the very few convention and entertainment venues that boasts its own police force. "With the addition of such a seasoned professional to the team, we are sure to continue upholding our commitment to excellence for both employees and visitors," said Mark Zimmerman.

Bolton replaces Allan Davis, who accepted the position as chief of security at the new Georgia Aquarium which opens this autumn.
