/ MEGAFEST RETURNS
The Georgia Dome and Georgia World
Congress Center welcome back MegaFest 2005, taking place
August 3-6. The "Total Christian Experience" for
the entire family, MegaFest is a four-day, three-night festival
that will feature three conferences that promote family,
fellowship and fun. The event will include ministry, seminars,
and entertainment for all age groups.
MegaFest is led by the Bishop T. D. Jakes who has been called
one of the "Top 10 Religious Leaders" and "America's
Best Preacher." The event is organized by Jakes' church,
The Potter's House, which is located in Dallas, TX, and
at 30,000 members, it is one of the fastest growing churches
in the nation.
Bishop Jakes first brought his ministry to the Georgia Dome
in 1998 with his conference Woman, Thou Art Loosed! After
bringing this conference two more times, Jakes brought ManPower
to the Georgia Dome in 2003. The conferences were such a
success that in 2004 Jakes brought the whole experience
together with MegaFest, an enormous conference geared toward
every member of the family. The event, which took place
over the entire Georgia World Congress Center Authority
campus, drew more than 140,000 attendees and an overall
record-breaking attendance of 560,000.
This year MegaFest returns with Woman, Thou Art Loosed,
ManPower, and the MegaYouth Experience. Woman, Thou Art
Loosed has been attended by hundreds of thousands of women
and is now a best-selling book and Grammy-nominated CD.
ManPower has grown from 2,500 attendees to 40,000 over the
course of just a few short years and MegaYouth will be geared
towards youth aged 13 to 21 with a theme of "You're
Not Forgotten". Additionally, concerts, a comedy show,
carnival, expo and other family-centered events will complete
MegaFest.
