DOME SOLD OUT FOR HONDA BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2006
Due to the POPULAR DEMAND, THE 4TH Annual Honda Battle of
the Bands has sold out the 65,000-seat Georgia Dome for
the third consecutive year. Honda thanks those who have
supported this unique and exciting event that showcases
the pageantry, heritage and showmanship of Black college
bands.
For
those attending the show, keep in mind of the following
traffic advisory. The Georgia Department of Transportation
(GDOT) will be closing several northbound lanes of the downtown
connector from 9:00 PM Friday night until 5:00 AM Monday
morning. Please be aware that this will
effect northbound traffic leaving the city on Friday and
Saturday nights and inbound traffic from the Southside on
Saturday night.
For those who won't be able to attend the show, Honda Battle
of the Bands HBCU Recruitment Fair offers an excellent opportunity
for young people to learn what it takes to earn a spot in
their favorite marching band. Marching band recruiters,
from 17 Historically Black Colleges and Universities across
the country, will be on hand to discuss their unique music
programs.
In addition to learning about band programs, participants
can speak with HBCU representatives about admission requirements,
academic programs and scholarship opportunities.
The free Recruitment Fair is open to the public and will
be held at the Georgia World Congress Center, Building C,
adjacent to the Georgia Dome, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on
Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006.
