Atlanta Fine Craft Show at GWCC

Glenn Hotel and B.E.D.
The Glenn Hotel celebrated its grand opening last month.
The boutique hotel, located at the corner of Spring and
Marietta streets, is home to B.E.D. (Beverage Entertainment
Dining), which will span three floors of the hotel. The
restaurant will include a rooftop bar offering stunning
views of Centennial Olympic Park and the Downtown Atlanta

Philips and Thrashers Awarded
Philips Arena and the Atlanta Thrashers captured a Golden
Matrix Award for Best Show Open at the 24th annual Information
Display and Entertainment Association conference.

Philips Arena recently captured the Top Dog Award for Best
Large Venue at Tour Guide Magazine's TourLink Conference.
New Connect Atlanta Card Program
The
Connect Card is a multi-day, multi-attraction card designed

Sports Exhibit at the Airport

BeltLine Project Enters Exciting New Phase
The non-profit group Atlanta BeltLine, Inc., will soon be
created by the Atlanta Development Authority (ADA) as a
subsidiary to oversee planning and implementation of the
BeltLine project. The Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. will directly
manage a number of key implementation activities focusing
on land acquisition; expenditures of $1.7 billion in City
of Atlanta TAD funding as well as generation of additional
federal funding support; engineering; design and construction;
and promoting affordable housing opportunities. The BeltLine
Partnership, which was created last year to represent the
interests of the community, including neighborhoods, special-interest
organizations and the business community. The Partnership
will continue to play a lead role in fundraising, advocacy
and communications related to the project.
"The BeltLine is rapidly becoming a reality. Never before
and never again will we have the opportunity to structure
our growth in a manner that is as beneficial for all residents

The Atlanta Opera Presents The Abduction from the
Seraglio
The Atlanta Opera joins the worldwide celebration of Mozart's
250th birthday with their production of The Abduction from
the Seraglio. This comic opera will be performed on March
9 at 8 p.m., March 11 at 8 p.m. and March 12 at 3 p.m. at

Hunger Walk
The Hunger Walk/Run raises funds for six local nonprofit
organizations that have hunger relief components. Participants
begin at Turner Field and walk or run a 5K or 10K route

Atlanta Botanical Garden Executive Director Mary Pat Matheson
was named to the 2006 class of "25 Power Women to Watch"
by Atlanta Woman Magazine.
30-Member Music & Dance Ensemble
Peru Negro is known as "The Cultural Ambassadors of Black
Peru." This remarkable 30-member, music and dance ensemble
utilizes wooden crates, tithing boxes and even donkey jaws
paired with melodic guitar and passionate singing to create

Delta Comes Downtown
One of Atlanta's best-known businesses is moving into one
of Atlanta's best-known buildings. For four months this
year, Delta Air Lines will lease the Macy's building on
Peachtree Street in Downtown. The airline will use the space
to retrain employees from around the world, including flight
attendants, gate agents and reservation agents. Over this
four month period, 12,000 Delta employees will attend 1
of 35 programs, called The Velvet Rope Tour, to learn about
the "new" Delta.
St. Patrick's Day in Atlanta
The 2006 Atlanta St. Patrick's Festival returns to Downtown
Atlanta. The 3-day festival showcases Irish music, dancers
and vendors in Underground Atlanta. On March 18, wear your
best green outfit and watch the 125th Atlanta St. Patrick's
Parade march into Underground Atlanta followed by a day
