FSN South goes behind the scenes of Chick-fil-A Bowl
ATLANTA (Dec. 27, 2006) – Georgia and Virginia Tech faithful can tune in to Fox Sports Net South’s Around the South program Thursday night at 10 p.m. ET to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the Bulldogs and Hokies have been preparing for the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
The Around the South show will include several segments on the teams as they prepare for the bowl game. Features will include a look at the Bowl’s team selection process, team practices in preparation for the Bowl and Bowl Week team events like the Georgia Aquarium visit, hospital visits and the Delta Football Feud, a game-show-style competition between the teams.
Georgia and Virginia Tech will tee it up in the Chick-fil-A Bowl Saturday, Dec. 30 at 8 pm. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
The Chick-fil-A Bowl is the longest-running rivalry series of top-ranked teams from the ACC and SEC and is recognized as the most competitive bowl game in the nation over the last 20 years. Beginning this year, the Chick-fil-A Bowl will own exclusive rights to the first selection in the ACC – after the BCS – and will increase its total team payout to $5.65 million. Last year’s game between #9 Miami and #10 LSU marked the Bowl’s ninth consecutive sellout and helped the Bowl retain its position as the highest-attended non-BCS bowl over the last 10 years. The 39th annual Chick-fil-A Bowl will be played Saturday, Dec. 30 at 8 p.m.
