ATLANTA FALCONS ALLSTATE “MIDTOWN TOUCHDOWN” FAN FESTIVAL USHERS IN 2007 SEASON

Atlanta community expected to turn out by the thousands for second annual festival

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA (July 10, 2007) — For the second year in a row, the Atlanta Falcons are bringing training camp and a day of entertainment intown for the team’s annual Midtown Touchdown festival on Saturday, August 4 at Atlanta’s Piedmont Park beginning at 3 p.m.

Having drawn more than 20,000 fans to last year’s inaugural event, the Falcons again plan to bring interactive family games, autograph sessions with players, alumni and cheerleaders, and live music entertainment to fans in the park. A training camp practice at nearby Grady Stadium – on a new playing field that’s been refurbished by the Falcons for the occasion – will cap the day, followed by fireworks.

Festival-goers will also have opportunities to win Falcons-themed giveaways, and interact with players during the “Falcons Walk” as the full roster of current players make their way from Piedmont Park to Grady Stadium before the start of practice

The annual celebration marks the only time a professional sports team has taken over an Atlanta city park for a large-scale event.

With a philosophy based on giving back to the community, Midtown Touchdown is another way the team can connect with fans and thank them for their support, team owner and CEO Arthur Blank said.

“When we created this event last year, the fan support and feedback was overwhelming,” Blank said. “This is one more way we can provide a Falcons experience to our fans and broaden our reach in the community.”

Entrance to Midtown Touchdown at Piedmont Park is free to all fans; tickets to the practice at Grady Stadium are $7 each. Proceeds will benefit Grady High School’s athletic programs and contribute to the refurbishment of the stadium’s football field. Beginning July 16, tickets can be purchased online at atlantfalcons.com, and in both Falcons 365 retail locations

The team will again partner with the City of Atlanta, the Piedmont Park Conservancy and Atlanta Public Schools to bring this exciting festival to the Atlanta community. The 2007 Midtown Touchdown is being presented by Allstate Insurance Company. Other sponsors include AT&T, Russell Athletic, Miller Lite, and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
