Gridiron Stadium Network Announces New Member Stadiums
& Sold Out Shows
Los Angeles, CA - Kelly Urquhart, Chairman for the Gridiron Stadium Network and Sr. Director of Major Events for Ford Field, announced today that three new member stadiums have been added to the organization; M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD, Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL and The Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA. With the addition of these new members, GSN now has 11 participating NFL stadiums and 2 Major League Soccer stadiums.
GSN was formed in 2005 with the objective of booking incremental events into its participating stadiums. “As GSN continues to grow, the individual strengths of each venue and the combined resources of the group provide a unique and beneficial network for agents, producers and promoters of large events,” said Urquhart.
Gridiron Stadium Network actively seeks new business opportunities for its members. Pooled resources and access to key decision makers in the live entertainment industry provide members with numerous advantages, and ultimately, an increase in the number of events at their venues. Dennis Mannion, Sr. Vice President, Business Ventures for the Baltimore Ravens, noted that, “The Ravens joined GSN in an effort to garner additional special event marketing strength and to contribute to the existing NFL lineup of teams.”
In 2007, there has been a significant increase in the number of live entertainment and event bookings at GSN stadiums. Kenny Chesney’s Flip Flop Summer Tour sold over 54,000 tickets with a total gross of over $4.4 million at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA on June 9, 2007. Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA and Qwest Field in Seattle, WA then experienced similar success with Kenny Chesney with a total gross of over $3.9 million and $3.2 million respectively.
Other shows coming to GSN stadiums this year include The Police, Dave Matthews Band, Crossroads Guitar Festival, 2007 Macy’s Music Festival, NOPI Drift Car Series and the Vans Warped Tour.
