DOWNTOWN CONNECTOR RESURFACING RESUMES THIS WEEKEND
Weather permitting, GDOT will continue its weekend work on the Downtown Connector Resurfacing Project starting this evening.
Weekend work will begin today, Friday, June 6 at 9:00 p.m. and conclude Monday, June 9 at 5:00 a.m.
Lane Closures:
- One of two lanes on I-75 southbound from 16th Street to the merge with I-85 (Downtown Connector) will be closed.
- Two outside (right) lanes of I-85 southbound starting under the Peachtree Street overpass to the merge with I-75 will be closed.
- Starting at the merge of I-75/I-85 southbound three outside (right) lanes will remain closed to just south of Freedom Parkway.
Ramp Closures - The following ramps will be closed to ALL traffic:
- 10th Street on-ramp
- North Avenue off -ramp
- Williams Street off-ramp
- Spring/Williams streets on-ramp
- Courtland Street off-ramp
- Freedom Parkway off-ramp (The on-ramp to I-75/85 will not be affected.)
The HOV lane and three additional inside lanes will remain open to traffic throughout the weekend.
This access is an excellent reason to carpool or take transit.
If you are driving to Downtown use I-285 and I-20 or use surface streets to avoid the construction activity.
